The weekend is almost over and I'm thoroughly exhausted. Lots of work has been done though, which was necessary. I feel like a pioneer having hauled and stacked logs, raked and moved yard waste, burned "stuff", cleared a whole section of the yard that was neglected for at least a year and managed to make sure everyone was fed, even if it wasn't my usual style. Whew! Looking forward to my sauna tomorrow!
I've got a small rant which is just cracking me up because I can't believe I'm so bothered. Yet, here I am dwelling on what could have been when I have better things to do. I am a huge fan of this actor named Tony Shalhoub. He directed and starred in my favorite show of all time and, ok, I'm a little obsessed. This guy literally helped me through one of the toughest ordeals of my life. It's hard to explain but I owe him a lot of gratitiude. Well, he was in town this weekend to accept an award. I knew he was coming. I read about his schedule while here and faced the fact that although he was probably just a couple miles down the road at least twice, alas, I could not meet him. OK. I wake to find that several friends of mine not only attended his award acceptance, they also met him, socialized, had photos taken etc........Well, I'm peeved. I guess they couldn't have known my story. I never shared. It's my own fault. But geez.........it would have been nice.
Please disregard the pictures of jarred honey. Or, just go ahead and enjoy them. They aren't supposed to be here but I don't know how to make them go away. The other pictures show my Saturday morning creation. I made goat milk yogurt, strained it for 2 days till it was nice and dry and then rolled it with olive oil hands, dipping the balls in zataar. Then they were jarred in olive oil. Huge success. Delicious!
Oh, did I mention it was 80 glorious degrees today? I actually had to ditch my sweatshirt by noon. Hope there's more where that came from.
